Like most of the people out there, Will Smith is one of my favorite actors too. This superstar has a professional track record which can make just anyone go green with envy. But ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ does have another deeper and a more profound side to himself. One day his father broke down a brick wall and told Will, who was all of 12 then and his 9-year-old brother to re-build it. Initially both the siblings said that it was impossible, but a year and a half later, the wall was built. Will says that his father then said, “I don’t want you ever telling me that there is something you can’t do.” Apart from the inspiring lesson that we must not give up without trying in life, this experience also imparted a bigger message. We need do things right the first time and look at solving the small goal first and not try to do the whole task at once, is what they understood. Think about it, if we would deal with our everyday tasks with all these lessons in mind, life would be a lot easier, wouldn’t it? There was one more point that Will made that has really taken a place in my mind; he said that his biggest fear is fear itself. He says fear motivates him, he detests being afraid of doing something and hence his only aim was to tackle that fear and make it his strength. How many of us can actually lead our lives with this motto? If we could, there would be a lot of satisfaction and happiness around this world. This powerful 9-minute clip of Will Smith’s words has earned him the spot of ‘my favorite actor’. Do watch the video and let us know your views, we would love to hear from you.
